Wooden Europe Bridge

Europe’s largest cantilevered wooden bridge, currently approved for heavy goods traffic, connects St. Georgen with St. Lorenzen and is a masterpiece of Styrian timber construction.
550m³ of sap-free, laminated Styrian larch and 69 tons of steel structures were used in the construction. The bridge is 85 meters long, 8.6 meters wide, and stands above the Mur with a height of 25 meters and a supporting width of 45 meters.
The bridge shows the potential of structural wood glue construction and can be seen as an impulse project for the construction of wooden bridges.
